At first Li doesn't seem to like Sakura much. They always end up as rivals in everything including capturing the Clow Cards. Over time, Li developes feelings for sakura, but he is really to shy to do anything. He gets jealous when Sakura pays attention to Eriol after he coems to their school. Sakura doesn't realize how Li feels. She is too preoccupied with Yukito. Li would do anything to protect Sakura and the cards.

When Li first saw Yukito, he ran away because he had such strange feelings! Li was completely attracted to Yuki. Li and Touya both play the ringtoss at the fair to win plush bunnies for Yukito. Yuki keeps Li's bunny and gives Touya's to Sakura. Li also gives Yuki chocolate on many occasions. It turns out later that Li was attracted to him because of Yuki's strong magical powers. (since he is Yue and all)
