Sakura found the Clow Book among her father's things and opened it. When she read the name of the Windy card, they all were released from the book. Sakura then had to go after the cards and capture all of them back to protect the world from the power and damage the cards are capable of. After all of the cards were captured, her powers were judged against Yue, the second guardian of the Clow Book. Using Windy again, she defeated Yue and became the master of the cards. Sakura had developed a special bond with the cards in order to be able to use their power. She eventually changes them to Sakura cards because they begin to draw their power from her rather than Clow Reed.
